How to Make An Appointment
Step-by-Step Instructions on Making your Legislative Appointments
1. Find your local representatives in Annapolis.
You can easily find your legislator by visiting the official Maryland Legislature website. Click on the link below and then click on the Who Represents Me link located at the top right of the page.
2. Check below to see what appointments we already have set up. (No appointments yet to post)
To better help coordinate all of our visits, we have prepared an online reference below so you can see if someone else has already scheduled a meeting with the legislator. (Coming Soon!)
3. Make Your Calls
Making calls to set up your appointments is easy. Here is a sample script you can use:
“Hi, my name is (insert name). The Maryland-National Capital Homecare Association is having our annual Legislative Day on March 12th A large part of the day is talking with legislators about all the benefits of home care and some of the priorities for employees and patients in the upcoming legislative session. Is there a time between 9:30 am and 2:00 pm on March 12th that I can discuss this with the legislator?”
Don’t forget to get the office/room number of where your meeting will occur.
4. Email MNCHA and let us know that you have made the appointment so we can update the spreadsheet.
Send us a quick note to say who you are meeting with, what time you are meeting and the best email to reach you at. If there are multiple people coming with you, please let us know that as well.
5. Legislative Day briefing
Just show up for the legislative briefing on March 12th. We will have a breakfast where we will review our legislative issues and any strategies for our meetings with legislators.
